Web Based Training "From Siemens to e-Siemens"

A core message of this WBT is that the managers are directly requested to take action and they are showed which aids and experience are at the company's disposal. Employees in the leading positions have to be able to recall and to register the most important contents of the topic rapidly and in a concentrated form. Structure, navigation, text and graphic editing of contents are arranged accordingly.

The management has to get to know visions and strategies of the e-business initiative of an internationally operating company, internalize and transfer them into the own scope of business.

In order to release the individual pages from texts, more detailed information was distributed on a lower level. They can be called through special symbols (rollover or click). At the end of each chapter, links for consolidation of teaching subjects are arranged.

During the presentation of contents, reading habits of the target group were taken into consideration. The texts were reduced to the most substantial core predicates to the extent from only approximately two or three lines per page.

Practical examples and concrete assistance are constantly offered (Intranet and e-mail addresses, downloads etc.). Polls are made to motivate the reflection about one's knowledge and to show how many users have already used this WBT.

Evaluation of learning progress: Each lesson closes with a "Learning Check". At the end of the WBT, an extensive assessment is offered. If the user passes 80% of the examination, a personalized certificate is automatically sent to him.


As a special feature, the WBT was provided with a statistcs tool. Among other things, the users can read off at any time the current user frequency and know how often their department, in comparison with other ones, takes part in the training.
